Alternatives to Cosmetic Dermal Fillers

Alternatives to Cosmetic Dermal Fillers

Previously I have spoken a lot about collagen and alternatives to anti-wrinkle injections.

This blog post is all about natural and organic alternatives to cosmetic dermal fillers, which are a popular treatment this time of year coming into wedding season.

Skin Tightening & Volumisation

Our face is made up of four major structural components; skin, fat, muscle and bone. Visible ageing is the product of volume loss within these structures.

Dermal fillers are a popular treatment as they appear to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, volumise and contour the skin. Unfortunately most fillers are made from synthetic substances that are not naturally occurring in the body and only work in their intended ways for a short period of time.

Alternatives to Cosmetic Dermal Fillers

My preferred methods are more permanent, natural and organic. Depending on your skin and rejuvenation goals, these may include lipofilling (fat transfers) and platelet therapy (PRP). By stimulating cells, growth factors and the collagen already present in your facial structures, these methods add volume using your body’s own tissue instead of artificial fillers.

These are more sustainable, organic real life solutions to real life cosmetic concerns. This is why I started Prèface Cosmetic. It’s what we do, it’s what I do. Organic cosmetics. Specialising in lids, chins and cheeks.

What is Lipofilling?

Lipofilling, or fat transfers are surgical procedures where fat is taken, usually from the abdomen and injected into areas that can do with more volume around the face.

Advantages of Lipofilling

Your body is naturally going to react better to its own fat deposits, rather than the artificial substances that are found in some dermal fillers. Fat is a good source of natural growth factors and stem cells. These growth factors can help to provide on-going facial rejuvenation over a longer period of time.

Lipofilling is designed to address:

  • Marionette lines
  • Eyelid droop
  • Cheeks
  • Jowls
  • Chin
  • Jawline

It’s important to note that lipofilling & many procedures at Prèface Cosmetic are not suitable for everybody. Please come and have a private consultation with me to discuss your individual concerns and desires. From there, I will work with you to come up with a personalised long-term beautification plan.
