IPL Photorejuvenation

IPL Photorejuvenation at Prèface Cosmetic

The Lumenis- M22 IPL is among the most advanced gentle, non-invasive IPL on the market. The broad spectrum of light used in IPL Photorejuvenation treatments is absorbed by the target tissue and is then removed by the body’s natural processes.

IPL photorejuvenation removes skin imperfections and stimulates collagen and elastic fiber production. It is a fast “lunchtime” treatment with no downtime.

This treatment provides dramatic improvements in the appearance of aged skin, removes age spots, most benign brown pigments and generalised pigmentation and redness caused by broken capillaries.

What is it?

The Lumenis® Optima™ IPL Photorejuvenation treatment can achieve remarkable results on a range of skin concerns such as age and sun spots, freckles, birthmarks, rosacea and broken capillaries.

The unique IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology gently and effectively eliminates spots, discolorations, and unwanted blood vessels.

Is it safe?

Developed by the pioneer of aesthetic medicine and trusted by leading professionals around the world, the Lumenis IPL Photorejuvenation treatment is designed foremost with safety in mind. Furthermore, as the inventor of the IPL technology, Lumenis features dozens of clinical papers proving the efficacy and safety of its technology.

How does it work?

IPL Photorejuvenation technology:

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology allows treatment of pigmentation and vascular imperfections, while improving overall skin appearance. Lumenis® IPL with Optimal Pulse Technology (OPT™) enables us to safely customise the treatment according to your skin type and desired results with maximum safety.

Light pulses penetrate the tissue and create heat, targeting the skin imperfections in a controlled manner. The body’s natural process then removes the treated tissue, while collagen and elastic fiber stimulation occurs, resulting in a visible improvement in skin tone and overall appearance.

The Treatment:

To ensure your comfort, cold coupling gel is applied to the treatment area. Depending on your specific concern, you can expect the session to last 15-30 minutes. You may experience a warm sensation as the light is applied to the skin, but the treatment is gentle and should not feel uncomfortable.

Different types of light target the pigment on the surface of the skin or blood vessels below the surface.

Intense pulses of light are delivered through the lightguide with integrated cooling to ensure maximum comfort.

How many treatments will I need?

Some skin concerns such as shallow pigmentation and age/sun spots can be cleared with as few as 1-2 treatments. Typically 2-6 sessions with 2-4 weeks in between are needed to achieve optimal results for most skin concerns.
