Pellevé is a non-surgical skin tightening treatment designed to address facial wrinkling.
Pellevé takes less than an hour and has no associated downtime. This makes Pellevé the perfect lunch hour treatment. Pellevé, although sitting within the radio-frequency (RF) family, is the most superficial of all RF treatments available at Prèface Cosmetic. It results in noticeable skin tightening, however does not address deeper collagen laxity. For this reason many treatments are needed to achieve the desired outcome and then further treatments are necessary for on-going maintenance to ensure that skin laxity does not re-occur.
Pellevé is not a laser. The treatment delivers constant, gradual radio-frequency energy deep into the skin, causing heat to build up where the skin and fat layer meets. The increasing heat modifies the collagen bundles deep in the skin, causing contraction and stimulating the growth of new collagen over time. The treatment feels like a warm massage resulting in firmer and tighter looking skin.
Pellevé precisely heats the deep layers of your skin using advanced RF energy without damaging the epidermis, or top layer. The heat the existing collagen in your skin to contract and tighten. After the treatment your skin will start to produce new collagen and you will see a dramatic improvement in skin tightness and wrinkles.
Pellevé is able to be combined as part of any rejuvenation package alongside treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, skin needling and others.
Pellevé is designed to address the following:
Most patients will start to see results immediately after a single Pellevé treatment, as the skin tightens. Over the coming months, you will continue to experience improvement in skin quality, firmness and tightness as the skin produces new collagen. However, for effective long-term results, we recommend a course of up to six treatments.

Treating the entire face takes anywhere from 45-60 minutes. If you would like a specific area treated (e.g., the delicate areas around your eyes, forehead, or smile lines) your procedure could be completed in as little as 30 minutes.
During the treatment:
Slight discomfort may be experienced while undergoing treatment. Typically the discomfort is mild and temporary during the procedure and localised within the treatment area.
At Prèface Cosmetic we ensure patients have met the necessary criteria for recommended treatments and procedures. It’s important to be aware of the risks associated with treatments in order to make an informed decision. Results from our treatments and procedures vary patient to patient according to factors including genetics, age, diet and exercise.
Risks and side effects of Pellevé treatments:
Mild swelling and redness may occur which typically goes away within 2 to 24 hours. Diligent protection from sun exposure and application of sunscreen for two to three weeks after treatment will minimize pigmentation changes.
Downtime of Pellevé treatments:
There is no downtime associated with Pellevé. You may experience some redness immediately after the treatment, which is caused by the skin’s elevated temperature during the treatment. You will be able to return to your normal day-to-day activities immediately after a Pellevé procedure.
