ThermaFrax

Introducing ThermaFrax.

The combination of Thermage skin tightening and Fraxel re:pair skin resurfacing into one advanced treatment.

What is ThermaFrax?

ThermaFrax combines two treatments that work together for improved results. Thermage is our most intensive collagen rejuvenation treatment for skin tightening & lifting, which is combined with Fraxel re:pair laser skin resurfacing. This combination treatment of laser and radio-frequency energy, targets the deeper layers of skin and collagen to address specific skin concerns.

Step 1: Thermage

Initially Thermage is performed to stimulate new collagen formation. Thermage uses radiofrequency technology to heat the deep, collagen-rich layers of the skin, separating the water molecules from the fibrous collagen, causing an immediate contraction, resulting in skin tightening. Over the next few months, the body’s healing response continues as collagen is deposited and remodelled.

This part of the treatment will take approximately 60 to 120 minutes.

Step 2: Fraxel re:pair

The next step is Fraxel re:pair skin resurfacing, which addresses significant tone, texture and pigmentation. This CO2 laser penetrates deep into the skin to remove old and damaged skin cells, leaving the surrounding tissue intact. Your body’s natural healing process is stimulated, which replaces the cells with fresh, glowing, healthy skin.

This part of the treatment will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

Swelling associated with laser treatments usually disappear in 1-2 weeks. The total healing process of Fraxel re:pair can take up to 6 months.

Please note that ThermaFrax treatment requires a twilight anaesthetic.

What areas are addressed with ThermaFrax?

Fraxel re:pair targets skin tone texture, fine lines and wrinkles, brown spots/pigmentation and acne scarring, whereas Thermage targets loose skin on the face such as marionette lines, brow droop, crows feet and jowls. Combined, this double treatment will leave you with firmer, fresher looking skin.

When will I see results?

ThermaFrax results are not instant and will take time as your body’s natural healing processes are activated.

The results of Thermage will be most noticeable in 2-6 months post-treatment as new collagen is formed by the body. Fraxel re:pair results are seen more quickly after the initial healing process of about 2 weeks. Recovery will vary patient to patient – the total healing process of Fraxel re:pair can take up to 6 months as the body replaces damaged skin cells with new ones.
